Summer Reading Programme with Pre-Texts

About the Programme
This summer, KEYS is partnering with Cultural Agents Initiative through the Harvard University Internship Program in a cultural exchange with Pre-Texts. Harvard University student interns trained in “Pre-Texts: Literacy, Innovation, Citizenship” will work with KEYS to support the success and growth of our Summer Reading Programme.
Pre-Texts is a pedagogical protocol that treats texts as raw material for creating art. This stimulates both cognitive and emotional growth as well as literacy, innovation and citizenship with a single prompt: Use a text as material to make art and reflect on the process. Despite the limitations of a pandemic period, we're partnering to continue to develop the contributions of arts and humanities toward social development.
The programme is available to Caribbean primary school students, age 6.5-11.
