Scholarships

The Cecil Leaton Holdip Memorial Scholarship is a BDS $500 award established in 2020 to support the education of Barbadian students who are transitioning to their 1st year of secondary school. The scholarship is being offered in memory of Cecil Leaton Holdip, dedicated educator and devoted husband and father.  

 The Cecil Leaton Holdip Past Student Memorial Scholarship is a BDS $300 award established in 2020 to support the education of Barbadian students who are transitioning to their 1st year of secondary school. The scholarship is being offered in memory of Cecil Leaton Holdip, dedicated educator and devoted husband and father.  

The Leroy and Marcene Straker Educational Scholarship was established in 2020 by Leroy and Marcene Straker. The BDS $500 scholarship is being offered to provide support for an incoming secondary school student from a St. Joseph single  parent family, Barbadian household.  

The Stella Virginia King Memorial Scholarship was established in 2021 in memory of Stella, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and village mother. The USD $250 scholarship is being offered by her family to support the education of resilient Caribbean secondary school students.  

The Ellen E. Straughan Memorial Scholarship is a BDS $400 award that was established in 2021 by the family of Ellen E. Straughan to support the education of Barbadian secondary school students.  

The ABC Scholarship is a BDS $750 award that was established in 2021 in recognition of siblings - Alex, Brielle and Cameron. The scholarship supports the education of Barbadian primary school students. 

The I Persevere Scholarship is a BDS $500 award established in 2020 to support the education  of Barbadian secondary school students, particularly those who have overcome tremendous obstacles. The award has been generously donated by Da-Shem-Rhe Inc. 

The Breaking Barriers Scholarship was  established in 2022 to support the education of Barbadian students from St. Lucy Primary School and St. Margaret's Primary School. The scholarship provides a BDS $500 award to a student from each school.  

The Bold Scholarship is a BDS $400 award established in 2022 to support the education of Barbadian secondary school students who exemplify bold leadership and the spirit of community.  

The Hannah Irene Thomas Memorial Scholarship is a BDS $400 award established in 2023 to support the education of Barbadian students from the Ellerslie and Frederick Smith Secondary schools with leadership potential to assist in their development as leaders. The scholarship is being offered in memory of Hannah Irene Thomas, dedicated educator, devoted mother and aunt.  

The Roberta Antonia Trotman Memorial  Scholarship is a BDS $500 award that was established in 2024 to support the education of Barbadian  secondary school students who are transitioning to tetiary level education. 

The Alleyne-Harewood Scholarship is a BDS $500 award that was established in 2024 to support the education of Barbadian students who have faced significant odds and financial challenges. The scholarship fund was established in honour of the late Alleyne and Harewood parents and sisters who all believed that education was one of the greatest keys to success.
